BRETON - Get Frenched
The Breton stripe made it's debut in 1858 as a uniform for French navy seamen in Northern France. The contrasting stripe was said to be easier to spot in the water should one of the French lads take a spill. Not only did the number of sea-rescues improve but French Navy handsomeness skyrocketed to 99%.
It's unclear if this increase was due to current sailors dressing better or because handsome civilians began signing up just to get their beautiful hands on those stripes.
The Breton (Originally made in Britanny 'La Bretagne' in Northern France) was first produced with 21 stripes to represent each of Napoleons victories over the English. The Noodle Bagz Breton stripe number is SEVEN. Seven Black and seven white to match the deadly sins and cardinal virtues, we’ll let you choose which ones to embody yourself.
The Breton as an iconic style piece has been popularized by many legends familiar with causing a stir, James Dean, Picasso and Kurt Cobain to name a few. Although the pattern may not be as outwardly outrageous as some of our other Noodle Bagz styles we've made it for the discerning gent who wants to swim (or party) in a history steeped pattern. Breton… welcome to the swim world you handsome chap.
