PB1000: 10 Things that are things
We were gonna do this Blog called ‘PB1000: 10 Things that we learned’ but I’m not sure we did learn 10 things. So here’s 10 things that are just things.
1. The Lifeguards smoked it
Yeah whatever the favorite team won it. But christ they smoked the course in just over 22 minutes and the 2nd place lifeguards followed moments behind. Everyone else got pretty much dusted by the boys. Calls for a bench press leg to even it out for the rugby lads next year have been rejected.
2. Next years bouy seen from space
We made the bouy at midnight the night before from an old exercise ball tied to a brick taken from a dumpster. It actually worked. Next year we’ll make a the most outrageous bouy on earth.
3. Bren Winbrock favorite for Reverse Triathlon.
Winbrock came in second in the swim which apparently is his weakest event in the traithlon. He’s coming in hot for the Noodle Bagz Reverse Tri III coming June 22 2019.
4. The event was loud
Our tunes at the event came blasting out of a fresh new Soundboks. The loudest portable speaker on the planet. Check them out:
5. Sidewalk chalk doesn’t work on blackboards
Noodle Bagz commissioned local chalk artist @ELWChalk to do chalk stuff on our blackboard. To the dismay of the local artist his sidewalk chalk did not appear as visceral as it would on a a tasty PB sidewalk. “He pulled it off in the end” said his close friend the PB flower lady.
6. The finish was close
Check out this snap of the two lads going for it on the final leg coming out of the surf. Couldn’t have asked for a spicier finish.
7. Thrusters Noodle Bagz are key
We’ll do a limited batch of 20 of them to be sold at the bar in the new year.
8. Where the cash go?
The lads who won threw $250 behind the bar at Thrusters and donated the rest back to the San Diego Lifesaving Association. The tab at Thrusters was more than $250 but whatever NBD we got it.
9. The prop phone was wet
At one stage a guy walked on to the sand from the boardwalk and put the phone to his hear so his missus could take a photo. Then he’s walking back to his brekky at World Famous with a mint colored right ear.
10. Not one noodle came loose
Noodle Bagz has maintained it’s immaculate record of keeping every noodle bagged for the entire event. Not sure about the after party.
